J. Thomas Wiley, Jr. served as Chief Executive Officer, Director, President and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of State Bank Financial Corporation and its subsidiary, State Bank and Trust Company, which merged with Cadence on January 1, 2019. Mr. Wiley is the former Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Coastal Bankshares, Inc. and its subsidiary bank, The Coastal Bank. Prior to that, he served as the Vice Chairman/Director of Flag Financial Corporation and as President and Chief Executive Officer of its subsidiary bank, Flag Bank. Mr. Wiley is a managing principal of Bankers’ Capital Group, LLC and serves on the board of governors of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the board of trustees of the Atlanta Police Foundation. He also serves as Co-Chairman of the Valdosta State University Capital Campaign.
