BancorpSouth will serve as the official bank partner as the new Mississippi quarter is unveiled tomorrow.
The U.S. Mint and Governor Ronnie Musgrove will unveil the newly designed commemorative quarter dollar Tuesday at a celebration ceremony at the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science. The quarter recognizes Mississippi's 1817 admission into the United States.
BancorpSouth President and Chief Operating Officer Jim Kelley will join U.S. Mint Director Henrietta Holsman Fore, Governor Ronnie Musgrove, State Treasurer Marshall Bennett, former Governor William Winter and Mississippi Numismatic Association President Darrell Beeson at the ceremony.
"As the largest Mississippi-based bank," said Kelley, "we are honored to participate in this historic event."
BancorpSouth will have exchange stations on site at the event for coin enthusiasts to receive the new quarters. The new Mississippi commemorative quarters will also be available at all BancorpSouth branches in the state.
The Mississippi Commemorative Quarter Dollar Celebration will begin Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science.
