BancorpSouth and America's Second Harvest Form Partnership to Feed the Hungry

BancorpSouth has donated $7,000 to America's Second Harvest - The Nation's Food Bank Network, spread throughout several communities in its corporate footprint. The bank will partner with the hunger-relief organization to provide volunteers and funding for food banks and soup kitchens in 19 locations throughout the mid-south.

"We believe it is incumbent upon us as corporate citizens of each community to make a difference in a real and tangible way, and this is one way we can do that." The $7,000 will be split among the communities within the seven states in which BancorpSouth has offices.

America's Second Harvest - The Nation's Food Bank Network is the largest charitable domestic hunger-relief organization in the country with a network of more than 200 Member food banks and food-rescue organizations servicing all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. The America's Second Harvest Network secures and distributes more than 2 billion pounds of donated food and grocery products annually; and supports approximately 50,000 local charitable agencies operating more than 94,000 programs including food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, after-school programs and Kids Cafes.
