BancorpSouth, Inc. Declares Quarterly Dividend

TUPELO, Miss.

At a meeting on September 25, 2008, the Board of Directors of BancorpSouth, Inc. declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.22 per common share. The dividend is payable January 2, 2009 to shareholders of record at the close of business on December 15, 2008.

BancorpSouth will release third quarter 2008 earnings on Monday, October 20 after the close of the financial markets.

BancorpSouth, Inc., with total assets of approximately $13.4 billion, operates banking, insurance and financial service offices in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas and Louisiana.
