BancorpSouth Foundation Announces Contribution to Hurricane Katrina Relief Funds

The BancorpSouth Foundation announced today that its Trustees have agreed to make a contribution of $200,000 to The Salvation Army for the benefit of the Mississippi Gulf Coast relief effort.

BancorpSouth Foundation committee member Aubrey B. Patterson said, "The relief effort in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina is monumental and will be long and expensive. There are many Mississippians impacted by this disaster. We are committed to helping them rebuild their lives and to returning the Mississippi Gulf Coast to the vibrant region it has been."

In addition to the Salvation Army contribution, the BancorpSouth Foundation also announced today it has pledged $50,000 to Mississippi author John Grisham and his wife Renee's "Rebuild the Coast" fund established to assist with Hurricane Katrina relief efforts on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Contributions to the fund can be made at any BancorpSouth location throughout its six-state market area as well as on line at http://www.rebuildthecoastfund.org/.
